Please join us online for a service of Prayers for Peace & Reconciliation each Monday on the Good Shepherd Facebook page or on the Good Shepherd website. This brief liturgy includes special prayers for healing and reconciliation amid the ongoing turmoil and conflict in our world. The service bulletin is available HERE.
Through our Online Recital series with Director of Music Chris Oelkers, discover the world of organ music in all its variety and splendor. Each week we dig beneath the surface of the music, as we explore both the familiar and not-so-familiar, learning about the composers along the way.
Why We Sing
Our Why We Sing series offers both musical and liturgical content. Each week Choirmaster Jonathan Babcock discusses the hymns for the upcoming Sunday services. Why We Sing is taking a break for fall, but will be back for Advent!
Community First! Canned Food Collection
Please contribute to our collection of canned goods and shelf stable items for Community First! Village. Easy drop off in our parking garage at the Windsor campus. Just look for the wooden bin close to the atrium entry doors. Community First prefers high-protein, high-calorie items. Specific needs for this week: Perishable items (meat and frozen vegetables) dropped off between 8:00am and 9:30am on Wednesday morning. We will have coolers ready to keep them. Also non-perishable items: soup, chicken broth, chips individually packaged, pasta, and spam. For more information or for other ways you might help, please email Aimee Bostwick or Jeff Mucci.

Mobile Loaves & Fishes
Our monthly food truck runs have been retooled to safely address the needs of the homeless in this time of crisis. If you are currently a volunteer scheduled to participate in July, Aimee will contact you to explain the changes. If you are not now a volunteer and looking for a way to address the needs of the homeless in our community, then this might be an opportunity for you. For more information, please email Aimee Bostwick.
As of now, the Trinity Streets is not holding its Sunday afternoon meal and worship. However, Trinity Center continues to provide a takeout breakfast and is the mailing address for over 1100 homeless. For more information, please email Aimee Bostwick.

Blessing Sunday Virtual Coffee Hour
Sunday, August 16 | following online worship
On Blessing Sunday in a typical year, we celebrate our students and ask God's blessing on their backpacks and new licenses. But this is no typical start to a school year, and we know it brings a host of unique challenges and opportunities for our youth and their families. So to kick off this academic year, we'll gather virtually as a Good Shepherd community to ask God’s blessing on our students’ entire experience of learning: from their backpacks and devices, to the spaces where they'll learn and study, to the people who'll journey with them.
Join us after worship this Sunday to participate in this special moment of blessing, to celebrate this community, and to remember that we’re not alone as we walk this unfamiliar path. For the Zoom link and any questions, please email Aimee Bostwick.

One Book, One Parish
During the spiritual practice of REST on the Way of Love, we offer different resources to you engage in this practice in a way that is best for you, from walking, praying, to reading, we hope this practice will restore you. We invite you to join a parish-wide reading of Afoot and Lighthearted: A Journal for Mindful Walking by Bonnie Smith Whitehouse and Simpler Living, Compassionate Life: A Christian Perspective by Michael Schut.
Afoot and Lighthearted (Silver Medal winner of the Nautilus Book Award) is a guided journal for walkers who want to expand their physical and creative worlds through acts of mindfulness. It will teach readers how to harness the power of walking to cultivate and nourish attention, inspiration, and determination, as well as to combat distraction, anxiety, and the dreaded creative block. Simpler Living, Compassionate Life , editor Michael Schut presents a rare collection of voices ― Henri Nouwen, Cecile Andrews, Richard Foster and others ― as they explore our use of money, the practice of simplicity, listening to our lives, widening our circle of community, and other topics at the core of how we live out our faith in our homes and workplaces. A study guide is included.
You can find both books for order on Amazon and Kindle.
