Fall Formation for All Ages

NURSERY | 0 – 24 MONTHS

Sundays at 8:30a – Nursery room
Bring your littlest ones to the Nursery outside of the Education Center before you begin formation.

PRESCHOOL FORMATION | 2 – 5 YEARS OLD

Sundays at 9:30a – First floor of the Education Center
Godly Play is designed for children ages 2 – 5. As part of lifelong formation, Godly Play nurtures preschoolers’ wonder and joy in a warm, inviting, and fun atmosphere. This curriculum cultivates a setting encouraging our young children to explore Bible stories in their own, unique ways. Following their creative responses, participants share in the tradition of The Great Feast, mirroring Communion.

Sundays at 10:30a – First floor of the Education Center
During our primary Sunday worship services, 2 through 4-year olds are invited to stay in the nursery, where parents can pick them up to receive communion with the rest of their family; or, little ones may attend the service with their parents.

CHILDREN’S CHAPEL | AGE 3 – 3RD GRADE

Sundays, during the 10:30a Gospel Reading – Room 200
At the reading of the Gospel, in both 10:30a worship services, families may choose for their young children to follow appointed Youth guides to the Children’s Choir Room for a meaningful Children’s Chapel program of movement, music, and story. Children return to their family’s care at the exchange of The Peace, just before the Eucharistic Prayer begins. Children’s Chapel is held on the 2nd floor of the Education Center in the Children’s Choir Room

ELEMENTARY FORMATION | KINDERGARTEN – 5TH GRADE

Sundays at 9:30a – Rooms 204 and 206
Herds
, a new and exciting addition to our Children’s and Family Ministry program, are age-level small groups designed just for kids in Kindergarten – 5th grade. Utilizing 252 Kids Curriculum, Herds will focus on engaging kids’ interests, connecting the Bible to their everyday lives, and building relationships. The curriculum provokes discovery and invites kids into a new understanding of forming a relationship with Jesus.

Various times – Education Center
For 4th and 5th-grade Herd members, we are beginning a pre-teen ministry which will include once-a-month gatherings and leadership opportunities with Children’s Chapel on Sunday mornings. Our preteens will have their own space, The Edge Lounge, in room 203 on the 2nd floor of the Education Center.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR | 2ND GRADE AND OLDER

Wednesdays at 5:30p – Room 200
Children’s Choir
is venturing in a new direction this year with its affiliation with the Royal School of Choral Music. Our goal is to create a program for our children which offers a global approach, integrates music theory, history, and the physiology of singing with their choral training, at a developmentally appropriate level. Children in 2nd grade and up are invited to become a part of this exciting time in music ministry here at Good Shepherd. Children’s Choir will be held on Wednesdays at 5:30p until 6:30p, in the children’s choir room on the 2nd floor of the Education Center.

YOUTH | 6TH – 12TH GRADES

Sundays at 9:30a – Youth Corner
Continuing our Journey to Adulthood with three classes being offered: Rite 13 (6th – 7th grades), J2A (8th – 9th grades), and YAC (10th – 12th grades). Encouraging Youth to pursue their curiosity within the healthy, vital community of their faith, Journey to Adulthood builds from two primary principles: first, that manhood and womanhood are free gifts from our loving God; and, second, that adulthood must be earned.

MIDDLE SCHOOL EYC | 6TH – 8TH GRADES

Wednesdays from 6:30p – 8:00p – Youth Corner
EYC
(Episcopal Youth Community) is our traditional “youth group” meeting time. This is a more laid-back time for Youth to build faithful friendships while enjoying games, activities, discussions, music, videos, snacks, and more fun!

HIGH SCHOOL EYC | 9TH – 12TH GRADES

Weekly meet-up time details to come
We are taking some intentional time and working with our active youth to learn what this group needs and wants in order to build meaningful and lasting relationships. Please stay tuned for more, and contact Aimee Bostwick if you’d like to be a part of High School EYC.

Sunday, September 10 from 3:00p – 4:30p – offsite
We invite all 9th-12th grade parishioners to join us for a discussion about High School EYC. During this time, we’ll talk about scheduling and learn how we can make this group as meaningful as possible this fall. Please RSVP to Aimee Bostwick.

ADULT FORMATION | COLLEGE-AGED AND OLDER

Sundays at 9:30a and Weekdays at various times – Education Center and Parish Hall
Equally exciting as our Children’s and Youth formation offerings is fall Formation for adult parishioners. In keeping with our fall theme, All Roads Lead to Rome, we invite all adults to attend our Sunday series on the book of Romans or to join our Episcopal 101 class, also beginning this coming Sunday. No registration required – just show up on Sunday! For specific information on each Sunday’s topic, and to learn more about our weekday formation offerings, click HERE.

SHEPHERD GROUPS | SMALL GROUP FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY

Various days and times – offsite
Good Shepherd invites you to join us this fall for Shepherd Groups: a small group fellowship ministry for all ages and experiences. Over shared meals, these groups intend to build points of connection, allowing participants to encourage one another through friendship, prayer, and discipleship. We’ll kick off this ministry with a joint-campus dinner on Thursday, September 14. Then we ask that groups meet at their convenience at least three times for supper before the start of the new year. We understand the demands of the daily grind and encourage all parishioners at both campuses to let Shepherd Groups be a respite amidst busyness and chaos.
