Shepherd + Edge Camp: Who is My Neighbor?
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39
This year’s campers will broaden their definition of neighbor to fit Christ’s true call to us – to love everyone as an extension of our love for the Lord our God. Through Arts Camp, the children will explore our command to love our neighbor as ourselves.
Arts Camp starts with a study of the self, then builds outward to establish who, indeed, are the neighbors Jesus calls us to love unconditionally. Arts Camp uses music and song, visual art and media, drama and storytelling, and movement and game-playing to enter into Bible study surrounding the question, “Who is My Neighbor?”
