Yoga on The Hill
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MAT AND A TOWEL OR BLANKET
WHEN: March 21-April 30 | Suggested donation $10/ class
WHERE: The Hill is located at 1700 Woodland Avenue
Hillside Classes are intended to take place at the bottom of the Hill behind the L shaped retention wall. In the event of rain or inclement weather, classes are relocated to the church building, most likely the sanctuary.
Tuesdays: March 21, 28, April 4, 11, 18, 25
9:00a: Hatha Yoga with Andrea Barton (Hillside)
Hatha uses the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and breath to connect the mind and body. Attention is given to proper body alignment while encouraging personal expression of the poses. Appropriate for all ages and experience levels.
Noon: Chair Yoga with Lauren Rosprim (Sanctuary)
In Chair Yoga, the chair is used as a prop and allows you to practice many yoga poses, breathing techniques, and meditation. Focus is on building strength, flexibility and relaxing your body and mind for overall health and well-being. Elements of this practice can be incorporated into a workday for those who sit at a desk or computer most of the day. All are welcome!
6:00p: Beginner’s Hatha Yoga with Julie Reitz (Hillside)
A beginners hatha yoga series, appropriate for all levels but designed for beginners. There will be a bit more verbal instruction and demonstration than a standard hatha class to give students a good foundation with attention to the details of the mechanics of the postures.
Saturdays: March 25, April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
8:00a: Yin Yoga and Flow with Chris Harrison (Hillside)
We will begin with a bit of flow to warm up our early morning bodies and follow that with the longer-held poses of the yin practice. With a focus on embodiment and wellness rather than perfection, all skill levels will feel welcome.
