Weekday Formation

TBD | Windsor Campus
Contemplative prayer, a form of Christian meditation, aims to open practitioners to the presence of God who dwells with us always. The tone of this prayer is peace, stillness, and quiet. Contemplative prayer seeks a personal encounter with God through silence but is powerful when practiced with others.

All are welcome regardless of previous experience of silent prayer. On the third Thursday of each month a contemplative Eucharist is offered.

We are pleased to offer a Wednesday evening men's bible study as part of our Wednesdays on Windsor formation series. The group will be made up primarily of dad's with younger children, but we are open to any who wish to attend. The group will focus on the Way of Love as our starting point but will allow the conversation to guide our study.

EfM is perhaps the best course of in-depth study in Christian basics found anywhere in the Church. Its four-year curriculum is modeled after the core study areas in a seminary education: Hebrew Scripture, Christian Scripture, Church History, Theology, and Ethics. The underlying goal is to equip us for ministry in Jesus’ beloved community. Weekly seminars throughout the school year interweave content and reflection aimed at ministry. This course prepares students to minister more effectively by helping students recognize connections between their life experiences and the Christian tradition.

Tuition (including all study materials): $350.00 per year (scholarships may be available). EFM is a four-year course which meets for nine months out of the year. Commitment is one year at a time.  For more information about EFM: http//www.sewanee.edu/EFM
