More InfoHospitality and Community
Sunday, 8:30a:Community café
In the West Parish Hall, following the 7:30a worship, we serve a light breakfast of coffee, juice, yogurt, fresh fruit, and cereal. The Hall is arranged in the style of a café, with light music playing, round tables inviting conversation, and niceties abounding to foster a greater sense of community among our people.
Sunday, 10:00a:Parish Breakfast
In both the East and West Parish Hall, between the 9:00 and 11:10a services, we gather for a hot breakfast of varying menus. Parish cook teams prepare bacon, eggs, pancakes, sausage, French toast, and a host of hearty options.Parish Breakfasts provide at least two opportunities for ministry: one, simply participating by getting to know your parish family and welcoming guests to our church while sharing a meal together; and, two, serving on one of the cook teams. For more information about the latter, please contact Anne & Tim Jarvis.
Sunday, 6:00p:Community Supper
In both the East and West Parish Hall, following the 5:00p Koinonia worship, and before our 6:30p Adult Christian Education program (not to mention being sandwiched between Junior and Senior EYC), we gather for supper. Like the morning Breakfast, the Hall is arranged in the style of a café, and at least two opportunities for ministry: one, simply participating by getting to know your parish family and welcoming guests to our church while sharing a good meal; and, two, serving on one of the cook teams. For more information about the latter, contact Kay Smith.
Episcopal Family Group (EFG)
A new offering this fall for families, the EFG will get together for the first time on Friday evening, November 13, from 6:00p until 8:00p, in the Parish Hall. Following a supper of pizza, juice boxes, and adult beverages, the Nursery will be available for the littlest ones, and babysitters will help watch attending families’ Children. Parents and caregivers can hang out together in the Parish Hall, or head outside to the playground with their kiddos. If you are interested in serving on a steering committee to plan monthly events for the EFG, please contact the Rev. Morgan S. Allen, Rector, at morgan @gsaustin.org.
Foyer Groups
Foyer Groups provide an opportunity for our parish to gather in small groups for supper in one another’s homes. For more information, contact Nancy Wade, at nwade@gsaustin.org.
Good Ole Boys These folks enjoy preparing barbecue for special events, including our parish picnics. There’s work to be done for sure, but it’s good fun with good people (and good meat). For more information, contact Louis Wade, at alwnbw@hotmail.com.
