On Sundays, and throughout the week, Good Shepherd offers several opportunities for deepening faith by serving in worship. It is our hope that together, we would share in the richness of community in all that we do. See below the ways in which we invite you to serve!

ALTAR GUILD
The Altar Guild is an important ‘behind-the-scenes’ ministry, serving the parish by preparing and maintaining the altar, sacristy, vestments, linens, vessels, candles, and supplies for all our regular worship and special liturgies, and by preparing the worship space. Each Altar Guild Team works with their group once every six weeks on Saturday mornings in the sacristy to clean, polish, and prepare the altar for Sunday services. They also work on Sundays to set-up and take down each service.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Eucharistic Ministers assist clergy at both campuses once or twice a month in the distribution of communion during worship services with a primary role to administer the chalice during Holy Communion.

GREETERS
Greeters provide a welcoming church experience before and after the regularly scheduled worship services, greeting and assisting all parishioners, new members, and visitors.

HOSTS ON THE HILL
Once a month hosts provide hospitality set up on The Hill by making coffee, setting out refreshments, and greeting and welcoming visitors.

INTERCESSORS
Intercessors assist the clergy at both campuses once or twice a month by reading the Prayers of the People during Sunday worship services, contributing significantly to worship as we remember in prayer the deceased, those in need of comfort, those expecting a child, and those leading our country and communities.

SACRISTANS ON THE HILL
The Sacristans prepare and maintain the altar on The Hill for worship on Sundays. Serving approximately one Sunday per month, a Sacristan sets up and takes down for communion. Serving in this way is a terrific way to learn more about our liturgy.

ST. ELIZABETH’S GUILD
St. Elizabeth’s Guild coordinates with the Altar Guild in the maintenance and creation of linens and vestments. The Guild meets quarterly to make baptismal towels and assist in needlework which includes hemming, mending, and embroidery.

USHERS
Ushers assist during worship services by welcoming churchgoers, providing bulletins, overseeing offertory collection, and ushering people during the distribution of communion.

VERGERS (WINDSOR CAMPUS)
Vergers play a permanent role ‘behind the scenes’ – working with clergy to plan the logistical details of our worship, and coordinating and shepherding the various liturgical ministries through the service once or twice a month.

VERGERS ON THE HILL
Vergers on the Hill work with the Vicar to plan the logistical details of worship at The Hill, serving approximately once a month, it is a terrific way to learn the service from the inside out.

WEDDING GUILD
The Wedding Guild assists the marriage couple throughout the planning process, the rehearsal, and the wedding, while celebrating their union and the beginning of their life together at Good Shepherd. Members of the Guild attend the wedding rehearsal and ceremony of a couple, with one member serving as Wedding Host and at least one other member assisting.

WORSHIP LEADERS
Worship Leaders assist clergy at both campuses by reading assigned Scripture verses as designated by the lectionary during our worship services.

TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANTS
Technology Assistants operate the Communion Café Powerpoint which drives worship.
