The Rev. Christine Love Mendoza

Christine joined the Good Shepherd staff as a seminarian intern in 2011 and then as staff clergy in 2013. In her current role as Priest for Liturgy, Christine oversees all things worship, including liturgy, music, and liturgical ministers for all of our services. Christine grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina – Tar Heel country – and eventually attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her BA, majoring in Religious Studies. Having attended college in the same town in which she was raised, Christine was ready for a change. She wanted to move to somewhere new and different when she graduated, and knowing nothing about Austin other than it was “cool,” she landed here in the early 90’s. After a 13-year career in software project management, Christine pursued her call to the priesthood and attended the Seminary of the Southwest where she graduated with a Masters of Divinity (MDiv.) degree. Christine and her husband, Jonathan – a native of Mexico City, Mexico and inveterate soccer lover, have been married since 1999, and have one perfect child (Emma), a strange dog, and a mean cat.
