Become a Member
All who enter our doors are welcome to become members of this parish, and we are happy you have chosen to take the next step and join The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
Whether you have been baptized, confirmed, have belonged to a previous Episcopal parish or a church of a different denomination, or you are new to church altogether, the first step in joining is to complete this form so we can recognize you on Sunday mornings, help get you plugged in and answer any questions you may have for us.
We look forward to seeing you sometime soon!
Depending on where you are on your faith journey, there are a few ways for you to join: Baptism, Confirmation or through a Letter of Transfer.
Baptism is considered as the foundation of a Christian life. Throughout the year, baptisms are held on special Sundays according to the Liturgical calendar. Baptisms are held at the 10:30a worship service and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and are able to accommodate 4-5 families on baptism Sundays. At this time, our Clergy do not perform any private baptisms. If you would like to be baptized, or you’d like to schedule a baptism for your child, please visit our Baptism page.
Confirmation, Reception, Reaffirmation
Confirmation represents a mature commitment to Christ and to the Episcopal faith. Reception is for those adults who have been confirmed as members of the one holy catholic and apostolic church [do people know what this means?]. And reaffirmation is for those adults who have been confirmed in the Episcopal church, but have experienced a renewal of faith or desire to renew their Christian commitment and baptismal vows. Confirmation, reception and reaffirmation all involve participating in either a Dedicate Retreat or by attending our Episcopal 101 classes on Sunday mornings, each being held twice a year.
Letter of Transfer
For those who are already Episcopalian, In the Episcopal Church, you officially become a member of a parish when you have your previous parish send a 'letter of transfer' to Good Shepherd. If you do wish to provide a letter of transfer, however, please fill out the Membership Form to the right and we at Good Shepherd will request your current or former parish to send your letter to us.
Regardless if you have been baptized, confirmed, have belonged to a previous Episcopal parish or a church of a different denomination, the first step in joining is to complete the form below. This way we will be able to recognize you on Sunday mornings and help get you plugged into Parish life, as well as answer any questions you may have for us. We look forward to seeing you sometime soon!
