Disciples Among Us: Barbara Hunt

DISCIPLES AMONG US: BARBARA HUNT
Sondra Ryan
Barbara is one of those special, behind-the-scenes, unsung heroes who shows her love by helping programs at Good Shepherd work better. She has been assisting the Children’s Choir directors as ‘Choir Mom’ for 21 years – greeting children, watching them on the playground after rehearsal until all are safely with a parent, taking care of music and vestments, serving as rehearsal accompanist when needed, and planning choir parties. The teacher in Barbara, along with her love of children and music, has made this role a perfect fit for Barbara’s talents.
Barbara sings in the Good Shepherd and Evensong Choirs, is choir librarian, and choir vestment keeper. Additionally she serves on the Altar Guild and as a member of St. Elizabeth’s Guild (our seamstresses), and in that role helps make altar coverings, clergy vestments, and Baptismal towels. Barbara also volunteers at St. David’s Trinity Street Service for the homeless.
We want to thank Barbara for her energetic and tireless service as she quietly goes about helping things run more smoothly at our beloved Good Shepherd—she is a devoted Disciple Among Us!
