Abby Johnston  

Abby is a cradle Episcopalian whose father is the priest-in-charge at St. James Episcopal Church in Del Rio, Texas, where Abby was raised. Her paternal grandfather was also an ordained Episcopal priest, serving as the first bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Mexico.

Upon moving to Austin in 2018 for a job at the state, Abby began attending Good Shepherd on The Hill, where she has since been an active member leading children's sermons/church, serving as a greeter and helping initiate the breakfast ministry. In January of 2020, she and her husband, Cole, were married at the Windsor campus.

Abby has inherited a passion for ministry in the Episcopal church. She looks forward to the opportunity to challenge herself in this new capacity as a member of the vestry. 

Lindsay Mabry

Lindsay and her husband, Milam, joined Good Shepherd in 2010. Their children, Ben and Margaret, were baptized here and attended Good Shepherd Episcopal School. Lindsay is a native of Macon, Georgia, and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Broadcast News. Her professional experience includes covering the Georgia General Assembly as a reporter for Georgia Public Television and serving as both press secretary and communications director for various members of Congress in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate. Additionally, she has served as a campaign spokeswoman from the congressional to the presidential level. While in Washington, Lindsay received a diploma from the U.S. Naval War College in National Security Studies. Since moving to Austin, she has returned to her artistic roots as an artist and actor, working in commercial, television and film.

Lindsay is grateful for the role Good Shepherd has played enriching her family’s life, and she looks forward to the opportunity to give back to the parish.
 

J Pieratt 

J and his wife, Jessica, are native Austinites and lifelong members of Good Shepherd.  J and Jessica first met as Acolytes at Good Shepherd. J now serves as a verger.   

J is a Partner at DLA Piper and the Location Head of the Austin Real Estate Practice.  He have a national real estate practice representing companies, developers and other real estate users in transactions locally and across the country.  J serves on the boards of the ABC Kite Fest, WAYA and Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas and the Development Committee for Waterloo Greenway. 

J and Jessica have two daughters; Frances (5) and Madeline (7). Their first-born son (Moss) passed away at the age of 15 months old, after being found unresponsive in his crib during a nap. J says that the Good Shepherd community was instrumental in his family’s healing during that difficult time. 

There are few institutions which engender the level of passion, history and love that Good Shepherd does for our family. I truly believe that our best days as a congregation are ahead of us and look forward to serving the church in this new capacity.

John Pitts  

John is a government affairs professional with Texas Star Alliance, where his practice covers energy, health care, education and other policy areas.  He has also co-founded several companies, primarily in the clean tech sector.  John is a 5th generation Austinite and 3rd generation member of Good Shepherd; his grandparents were founding members of the church.  John is married to Lesley Pitts and is the father of John the 3rd and Sterling, both 6th grade, and Caroline, 3rd grade.

Miguel Romano 

Miguel serves as Ascension Health’s President of Foundations for Texas. In this role, he oversees five foundations in the Ascension Texas Ministry.    

Miguel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication from Florida State University, a Master’s in International Business from the University of Florida and a Master’s in Finance from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico.   

He has served in various public and community service roles.  In addition to his Gubernatorial appointment as Board Member on the Texas State Securities Board, he is active in the community and has served on various boards and committees for local organizations, including Austin Chamber of Commerce, E3 Alliance, Friends of the Children, Austin Area Research Organization (AARO), Ronald McDonald House, FuturoFund, Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Scholarship Consortium, National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, PeopleFund and the Subiendo Academy at The University of Texas at Austin.   

Miguel is a first-generation American, and he and his wife, Katie, have two children. 

Jack Wolfe  

Jack married Vanessa Carter Wolfe in their hometown of El Paso in 1983. They have 2 sons, Carter and Preston. Jack and Vanessa are U.T. Longhorns and, after living in Austin during college in the late 1970s, they decided to move to Austin in 1994. Jack and Vanessa joined Good Shepherd in 2017 after 23 years in the Methodist Church and many years as Presbyterians before that.  

“Vanessa and I love our family at Good Shepherd, and we have really appreciated all that Good Shepherd offers its congregation. We have felt the warmth here from day one, and we both look forward to fully participating in this wonderful congregation in the years ahead.” Outside of Good Shepherd, Jack is an avid outdoorsman along with a keen interest in commercial real estate, civic service, travel, books, teaching, music, history, architecture and especially great friendships and his fine family.
