“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” In the Episcopal Church, Lent starts with an unusual practice. We put ashes on our foreheads to remember our human vulnerability, as we prepare for a season of reflection and service. At every age and stage of life, it is good to remember that our lives are fragile and interconnected. We take care of one another and God takes care of us. In chapel, we will talk about taking care of God’s creatures great and small. With permission, students may also receive ashes.
