In the New Testament\, the primary attention upon the presence and power of the Holy Spirit is in the life of Jesus and then through him in the lives of all his followers. The Book of Acts\, which we read on Sundays in the season of Easter\, gives accounts of how the Spirit empowers the early Church. Primarily\, the Spirit acts in three ways: evangelism\, preaching and teaching the word of God\, and the healing ministry. We will look at texts from Acts in these three ways the Holy Spirit has directed the mission of the church\, and save time at the end of class to share our own experiences of the Holy Spirit.  \nEveryone is welcome! SUMMARY:The Holy Spirit in the Church and the World
DESCRIPTION:From the beginning of time\, the Spirit of God has been present and active in the world (Genesis 1:2). In the New Testament\, the primary attention upon the presence and power of the Holy Spirit is in the life of Jesus and then through him in the lives of all his followers. The Book of Acts\, which we read on Sundays in the season of Easter\, gives accounts of how the Spirit empowers the early Church. Primarily\, the Spirit acts in three ways: evangelism\, preaching and teaching the word of God\, and the healing ministry. We will look at texts from Acts in these three ways the Holy Spirit has directed the mission of the church\, and save time at the end of class to share our own experiences of the Holy Spirit.  \nEveryone is welcome! DESCRIPTION:Join us to help Community First! Village set up new houses for our unhoused neighbors.\nVolunteers assemble furniture\, stock pantries\, hang pictures\, and clean and stock linens.\nWe also have an opportunity to tour the Village after our shift.\nGood Shepherd parishioners volunteer the 3rd Saturday of each month.\nWe need 12 volunteers total\, 6 for each house. Kids are encouraged to join in.\n\nClick HERE to sign up! \n\n\nWe meet at Community First! Village (9301 Hog Eye Rd Suite 950\, Austin\, TX 78724) at the Front Porch building across from the large parking lot on the first right turn after you come into the community and we will be guided to one of the new homes to clean and furnish for unhoused neighbors. \nCF!V is a 51-acre community that provides affordable\, permanent housing and a supportive community for people coming out of chronic homelessness.\n\nQuestions?
