SUMMARY:Community First! Village: Move-Ins
DESCRIPTION:Join us to help Community First! Village set up new houses for our unhoused neighbors.\nVolunteers assemble furniture\, stock pantries\, hang pictures\, and clean and stock linens.\nWe also have an opportunity to tour the Village after our shift.\nGood Shepherd parishioners volunteer the 3rd Saturday of each month.\nWe need 12 volunteers total\, 6 for each house. Kids are encouraged to join in.\n\nClick HERE to sign up! \n\n\nWe meet at Community First! Village (9301 Hog Eye Rd Suite 950\, Austin\, TX 78724) at the Front Porch building across from the large parking lot on the first right turn after you come into the community and we will be guided to one of the new homes to clean and furnish for unhoused neighbors. \nCF!V is a 51-acre community that provides affordable\, permanent housing and a supportive community for people coming out of chronic homelessness.\n\nQuestions? All are welcome to attend.  \nThe group will begin reading With Head and With Heart: The Autobiography of Howard Thurman. Thurman was an American author\, minister\, philosopher\, civil rights leader\, and educator whose vitality and vision touched the lives of countless people of all races\, faiths\, and cultures. He mentored to several leaders of the Civil Rights movement including\, the Rev’d Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. \nWe regularly have a snack or light breakfast each week as we “chew” on our study.\nIf you would like to bring a snack\, breakfast item\, or lead our class\, please contact Will Jones.

SUMMARY:Community First! Village: Move-Ins
DESCRIPTION:Join us to help Community First! Village set up new houses for our unhoused neighbors.\nVolunteers assemble furniture\, stock pantries\, hang pictures\, and clean and stock linens.\nWe also have an opportunity to tour the Village after our shift.\nGood Shepherd parishioners volunteer the 3rd Saturday of each month.\nWe need 12 volunteers total\, 6 for each house. Kids are encouraged to join in.\n\nClick HERE to sign up! \n\n\nWe meet at Community First! Village (9301 Hog Eye Rd Suite 950\, Austin\, TX 78724) at the Front Porch building across from the large parking lot on the first right turn after you come into the community and we will be guided to one of the new homes to clean and furnish for unhoused neighbors. \nCF!V is a 51-acre community that provides affordable\, permanent housing and a supportive community for people coming out of chronic homelessness.\n\nQuestions? The Old Testament is the “operating system” for the New Testament. Without the calling of Israel\, the story of Jesus has no context. Without the Law and the Prophets\, the New Testament has no foundation in which to build the Church. We will read a variety of biblical texts\, from Abraham and Moses and the Prophets to the Gospels and St. Paul\, and discover how often the Scriptures reveal “the good news of the gospel.” \nWith questions\, please contact the Rev.
