DESCRIPTION:Do you want to learn more about the Bible\, Christian tradition and Church History\, while nurturing your faith? If so\, consider joining Good Shepherd’s Education for Ministry group.\nGood Shepherd’s Education for Ministry group (EfM) is a Christian formation program founded and administered through the University of the South at Sewanee. Through study\, prayer\, worship and reflection\, EfM groups journey together through the Hebrew Bible; The New Testament; Church history and Christian ethics and spirituality. Good Shepherd’s mentored group weaves those studies into theological conversations formed by participants’ experience of the world. \nThis year marks the 50th anniversary of EfM and with it comes an entirely new curriculum. The curriculum now has two tracks\, both of which are thought provoking and designed for us to understand our relationship with God and to uncover our gifts in God’s creation. The first track is the classic four-year course\, which mirrors the core study areas of a seminary education. The second track is new this year: EfM: Wide Angle. This track is a one-year course that offers an authentic EfM seminar experience while including videos\, podcasts\, blogs\, and a more limited amount of reading than the first track.\nThe 2025-2026 class is forming now and the commitment for both tracks is one year. \nFor more information\, please contact mentors Bill Davies or Mary Ann Frishman.

DESCRIPTION:Education Hour is what we call our “Sunday School” or “Formation” classes. Formation means “an act of giving shape to something.” We are shaped into followers of Jesus in lots of ways: through scripture\, prayer\, worship\, friendship\, and care for our neighbors\, among other things. Every Sunday\, adults and older teens are invited to take some time to study scripture and theology as part of this formation. \nAll are welcome!\nNo preparation necessary – we will supply books and materials as needed.\nCome hungry! DESCRIPTION:Godly Play is a creative\, imaginative approach to christian formation and spiritual guidance for children 3 years old (potty trained) through 2nd grade. Every Sunday children gather in our Education Center to learn about the Bible and explore God’s expansive presence and unconditional love for them. DESCRIPTION:Our second campus’ Sunday worship follows a slightly less-traditional Episcopal liturgy\, in a comfortable setting. Prayed in the The Book of Common Prayer’s Rite II\, and supported by the choral and musical leadership of a live\, acoustic band\, The Hill’s worship includes readings from scripture; a sermon; prayers; congregational singing; and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. \nThe Hill worship also includes a brief children’s sermon\, after which families may choose to allow their children to join appointed Youth for community-building time on the playground. Youth then lead participating children’s return to the sanctuary in time for Communion. \nNursery care available.
