LENT EVENTS & OFFERINGS

After a year of reflection, going downward and inward more than we could have imagined, this Lent we hope to go outward and upward!

On Ash Wednesday we were reminded of the sign of the cross and that we are dust and to dust we shall return. Our theme for Lent is "On your mark, get set, GO!" The "mark" of the cross reminds us of our baptismal covenant where we are "marked and sealed as Christ's own forever." From this place of remembering, we find ourselves grounded or "set" in love and in the community that forms us as disciples of Jesus. It is from this place of love that we "GO" into the world to share God's presence and love.

During the season of Lent, your Shepherd Circles and Good Shepherd community will be paired together to create opportunities to GO "outward and upward." Let us raise our awareness of the needs around us and in doing so encounter the holy in unimaginable ways. Where will we go? Who will we meet? What will we do? Together we will answer those questions

And join us throughout Lent as we read Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion by Gregory Boyle.
