Serve
Working together changes the way we see the world, the city, our neighbors and ourselves. Join us in God’s transformative work right here in Austin.
MAKE CHURCH HAPPEN
Worship is the work of people. And whether you are most comfortable reading scripture, praying, offering a warm hello or even (especially!) making coffee, there’s important work for you here. Consider volunteering once a month to help bring the Sunday service to vibrant life – we promise it will be a gift for you, for others and an opportunity to deepen your faith. Contact the Rev. Laurence Wainwright-Maks to learn more.
More about Worship ministries.
MAKE MUSIC
The Hill Worship Band
The musicians at Woodland create a fresh expression of sacred, traditional music for Sunday worship services by arranging hymns and anthems for guitar, bass, piano and percussion. Contact Matt Bradshaw if you’d like to learn more or join in!
The Hill Pick-up Choir
Our Pick-up Choir performs every other Sunday. Singers receive the music in advance and practice morning-of to keep things simple. This is a small-time commitment that delivers great joy–there’s a reason so many of our regular attendees have become Pick-Up Choir members! Contact Matt Bradshaw if you’d like to learn more or join in!
FEED THE HUNGRY
Mobile Loaves and Fishes
Monthly
Take part in this ongoing ministry to the homeless of Austin. Whether you want to help make sandwiches, pack the truck, or go on the truck run, there is work for you. This is a wonderful opportunity to introduce your children to volunteering. For more information, contact the Rev. Laurence Wainwright-Maks.
Trinity Streets
Trinity Streets is a ministry of St. David’s Episcopal Church in downtown Austin. Six Sundays a year, we help prepare a meal and offer a worship service for up to 80 homeless neighbors. For more information and dates contact the Rev. Laurence Wainwright-Maks.
GROW SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL
The Park at Love Hill
Love Hill is a neighborhood park and sanctuary freely offered to the neighborhood. Help us further its identity as a beautiful and welcoming community space. If you would like to help grow and shape The Park on Woodland, please contact the Rev. Laurence Wainwright-Maks.
Opportunity Gardens
Opportunity Gardens at Woodland create an opportunity to put down roots, both physically and figuratively, in the neighborhood. Here we grow the ingredients necessary for communication, self-reliance, mutual respect, tolerance, caring and food security. If you’d like to be a part of creating and sustaining an authentic community through gardening, contact Lisa McMinn.
