Phased re-opening

We are glad to be able to begin in-person worship again. For now, all of our services will be outdoors and will be limited to 50 people. Our planning has followed the requirements of The Episcopal Diocese of Texas, and we seek to balance a desire to gather in person with the safely and health of those in our parish community and in our city.

We will likely need to practice sharing in a way we haven’t before – we’ll need to share spots in church! At this point, we will be only offering one in-person service on a Sunday. Given the limited spots, we understand that not everyone can attend who would like to. Our goal is to ensure the safety of all who attend. With every step we take toward reopening, we will live into that step and then monitor its impact.

What this means for you is that we need to share the opportunity for in-person worship with others in our community. If you attend in person, please consider worshiping online for a few weeks afterwards to allow others to attend in person. And if there’s not room at this Sunday’s service, please look for opportunities to attend in future weeks.

Please know that we will continue to offer online worship and that all of our programming will continue to meet online. Our online worship is a full expression of our intent to worship God, and you are a full participant in the life of our parish community – and in the life of the Body of Christ – if you choose to worship online instead of in person. For those in higher-risk groups, we encourage you to worship online.

You must wear a mask while on Good Shepherd’s campus, including during the worship service.

Please do not attend in-person if you are in a high-risk group
