Shepherd Circles

At Good Shepherd, God has placed a vision in our hearts. That vision is: “In the fullness of time, all people will find joyful union with God and with one another, being fully known and fully loved.” Our new ministry of Shepherd Circles is an invitation into this vision.

In Scripture, we hear “When we love one another, God lives in us” 1 John 4:12. We hope this will be your experience. When we gather together, we encounter the living God in our awareness. Jesus said, “When 2 or 3 are gathered, I will be in the midst of them.” It is with this hope that our parish gathers in small groups called Shepherd Circles.

In God's Peace,
The Rev. Channing Smith, Rector

What are Shepherd Circles?
Shepherd Circles are an invitation into a place of being fully known and fully loved. Our parish has been organized through these circles to establish points of connection so we can come to know one another more fully, by name and by story. Through our circles, we will meet our new Rector the Rev. Channing Smith, share worship experiences, and offer one another encouragement and prayer.  These circles are organized by convenors and for the meantime will meet by zoom. They are also invitational. If you have a friend or neighbor you would like to invite to join a group, please let the convenor know and then by all means invite them. May God bless our desire to love one another and to be nourished by our time together.

Aimee Bostwick, our Director of Programs explains more about Shepherd Circles.
