Jonathan has been a part of the Good Shepherd staff for nine years. In his role as Choirmaster, Jonathan directs the Good Shepherd Choir and Evensong Choir. He originally grew up in Binghamton, New York, and later earned his DMA at The Hartt School, University of Hartford-choral conducting and his MM at The Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam-music education. Jonathan and his husband of 19 years, Danton Bankay, landed in Austin twelve years ago when Jonathan accepted a role at Texas State University, where he serves as Interim Director of Choral Activities.
