ADVENT OFFERINGS

ADVENT QUIET DAY
Saturday, December 10   |   9:30a-1:00p   |   The Hill
Quiet days are times to enjoy quiet and stillness away from the demands of daily life and, in the process, tune ourselves to the Divine voice that sometimes is overcome by the clamor of the day. Just as we schedule time for a workout or dinner with friends, we can schedule time for God. Let this mini-retreat give you structure and space for nurturing your spiritual self, similar to the way you take care of other areas of your life. The leader will give short presentations to reflect on and you will have the opportunity to be attentive to God. We will conclude with a light lunch. In the gospel of John, we are invited to “come and see” to meet Jesus. Let this be your invitation to a quiet day… Come and see. Please register HERE.

ANNUAL WOMEN'S CHRISTMAS  TEA
Tuesday, December 13   |   4:00p-7:00p   |   Windsor, PLC
Women of all ages are invited to this beautiful Good Shepherd tradition. Join us for fellowship and merriment in celebration of the Advent season and one another. Drop by or stay the whole time from 4:00p–7:00p in the Parish Life Center on the Windsor campus. Sign up to bring your snacks HERE.

ADVENT ORGAN RECITALS SERIES
Thursdays   |   12:15p   |   Windsor Campus, Nave
30-minute organ recitals are offered on Thursdays in Advent, featuring fine organists from the Austin area performing seasonal music for Advent and Christmas. The concerts begin at 12:15p and are free and open to the public.

  • December 15: Jean Fuller, St. Matthew’s Episcopal organist emeritus
December 22: Gregory Eaton, All Saints’ Episcopal organist

THE LONGEST NIGHT WORSHIP SERVICE
Wednesday, December 21   |   6:30p   |   Windsor Campus, Nave
Advent and Christmas are often marked by expressions of joy, excitement and happiness, pointing to the hope that is found in the coming of the Christ child. This time of joy and expectation can sometimes overshadow grief and hurt that many also experience during this season, when the world’s merriment puts the sorrow we may be experiencing in stark relief. Please join us for a Service of the Longest Night where we will recognize our suffering and loss and acknowledge that our savior remains.

ADVENT GIVING

CHRISTMAS BENEVOLENCE
Sundays, November 27 & December 4   |   Both Campuses
We will provide you with a gift and we ask that you give this gift directly to a person in need, extending Good Shepherd’s reach in the Austin community and giving you an opportunity to experience the joy of giving in a personal way this season.

CHRISTMAS MUSIC AND
FLOWER DONATIONS
Deadline: December 11   |   Both Campuses
We are fortunate to receive donations that allow us to provide the beautiful poinsettias and outstanding Christmas music for our Christmas Eve worship services. Click HERE to donate online. For recognition in the Christmas Eve leaflets, donations must be received by the Good Shepherd office no later than Sunday, December 11.

RISE AGAINST HUNGER:
WORSHIP + PACK
Sunday, December 18   |   10:30a   |   Both Campuses
We are glad to partner with Rise Against Hunger to pack over 35,000 meals for people facing hunger across the globe. We will have a 10:30a combined worship service in the nave on the Windsor campus, and the pack will begin in the Parish Life Center just after the service ends.
