Service details

Our most well-attended hour of worship, we customarily pray this mid-morning service in the more contemporary language (“You” and “Your”) of The Book of Common Prayer’s Rite II. Supported by the traditional, choral leadership of the Good Shepherd Choir and organ, the 10:30 am includes readings from scripture; a sermon; congregational hymns; prayers for God’s Church, the world, ourselves, and one another; and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Communion Café: Holy Eucharist with an acoustic band
Windsor  |  Parish Life Center
Service details

Our second, primary service of mid-morning worship, Communion Café blends traditional, Episcopal worship and a relaxed, inclusive setting. Supported by the choral and musical leadership of a live, acoustic band, Communion Café includes readings from scripture; a sermon; prayers; congregational singing; and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Sunday, 10:30 am
Holy Eucharist with an acoustic band
Woodland  |  Sanctuary
Service details

Our second campus’ Sunday worship follows a slightly less-traditional Episcopal liturgy, in a comfortable setting. Prayed in the more contemporary language (“You” and “Your”) of The Book of Common Prayer’s Rite II, and supported by the choral and musical leadership of a live, acoustic band, The Hill’s worship includes readings from scripture; a sermon; prayers; congregational singing; and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

The Hill’s worship also includes a brief children’s sermon, after which families may choose to allow their children to join appointed Youth for community-building time on the playground. Youth then lead participating children’s return to the sanctuary in time for Communion.

Sunday, 6:00 pm
Holy Eucharist with organ
Windsor  |  Sanctuary
Service details

Our candlelit, evening worship offers a more meditative, intimate atmosphere, acknowledging with prayer and setting the close of day. The 6:00 pm opens with the Book of Common Prayer’s Service of Light, and includes readings from scripture; a sermon; prayers; congregational hymns led by organ; and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Choral Evensong, 6:00 pm
Holy Eucharist with special music
Windsor  |  Sanctuary
Service details

On the second Sunday of Program Year months (Labor Day through Memorial Day), the Good Shepherd Choir leads Choral Evensong for our 6:00 pm service. Evensong, a music-rich setting of Evening Prayer, is among our most traditionally Anglican liturgies, witnessing the Church’s ancient devotion of praying each day’s hours. At Good Shepherd, this service comprises choral anthems, plainsong chant, congregational hymnody, scripture readings, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Service details

We will virtually gather to finish the day in prayer. The offering of prayer late in the evening has sometimes been described as the "goodnight prayer of the Church." It rounds out the day and prepares us for a quiet night. Using A New Zealand Prayer Book, our Night Prayer derives its content from the wisdom of the centuries in scripture and especially the psalms, but also from our contemporary Christian experience of God. Join us for Night Prayer on Woodland's Facebook page.

NOTE: All Baptized Christians are invited to take Holy Communion during our worship services.
