Italivi Mena serves as Ministry Assistant at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, having joined the staff in June 2025. They support the day-to-day life of the parish through administrative coordination, communications, and collaboration with clergy and staff to ensure the smooth planning and execution of worship services, events, and outreach initiatives.
Italivi is originally from Houston and brings prior experience in Episcopal church communities, including parish administration, hospitality, and bilingual (English and Spanish) support. Their background is informed by family roots in a small Indigenous town in Mexico, shaping a perspective grounded in relationship, presence, and belonging. Their work is guided by an emphasis on creating welcoming and accessible spaces for diverse communities.
In their free time, Italivi enjoys reading non-fiction, particularly books focused on general science and the natural world. They also enjoy dancing to cumbia and bachata and attending cultural events as a way of staying connected to community and culture. Italivi moved to Austin in 2025 and enjoys exploring the city alongside their senior dog, Cinni-Mini.
