Holy Eucharist and washing of the feet
This night recalls Jesus’ Last Supper, when he gave the gift of the Eucharist and washed the feet of his disciples before withdrawing to pray in the garden of Gethsemane. This begins the three days of Jesus’ passion, death and resurrection, the Triduum. After the service, an overnight watch begins.
