Interfaith Ramadan Iftar Dinner

INTERFAITH RAMADAN IFTAR DINNER
Sunday, March 23 | 6:45p | Windsor, PLC
Join us for an interfaith gathering to learn more about Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar. We will celebrate the sacred moment of fast-breaking, followed by a delicious dinner provided by our Muslim guests. Admission is FREE. Please register to attend by Thursday, March 20.
The Dialogue Institute Austin is dedicated to building community connections by hosting Iftar dinners throughout the Greater Austin area. These gatherings are held in partnership with local organizations, utilizing their spaces to bring people together.
Our dedicated volunteers prepare homemade meals, creating a warm and welcoming environment where attendees share a communal dining experience. Each evening begins with a heartfelt welcome from a community speaker, followed by a brief introduction to the significance of Ramadan. The highlight of the event is the sunset dinner, fostering meaningful conversations and shared moments at every table.
What is Ramadan?
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, observed as the holiest month for Muslims. As the lunar calendar is 11 days shorter than the solar calendar, Ramadan begins earlier each year. In 2025, Ramadan will start on March 1st and conclude on March 29th.
Muslims fast from dawn until sunset during this sacred month, abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs to focus on self-reflection, spiritual growth, and acts of kindness. The fast is broken at sunset with a meal known as “Iftar,” which brings family, friends, and communities together.
We invite your community to join us for one of these special dinners. You can choose a date within Ramadan that works best for you.
Let’s celebrate the spirit of unity and understanding this Ramadan.
