“And God said…”, a bible study connecting the Old and New Testaments will meet on Sunday mornings beginning June 16.
Three words in the Book of Genesis – And God said… – set the entire Judeo-Christian story in motion. The Old Testament is the “operating system” for the New Testament. Without the calling of Israel, the story of Jesus has no context. Without the Law and the Prophets, the New Testament has no foundation in which to build the Church. We will read a variety of biblical texts, from Abraham and Moses and the Prophets to the Gospels and St. Paul, and discover how often the Scriptures reveal “the good news of the gospel.”
