WORSHIP SCHEDULE

Sunday SCHEDULE

Sunday | 8:00a

HOLY EUCHARIST, Windsor, nave

We pray our early morning celebration of the Holy Eucharist using The Book of Common Prayer’s Rite II. The 8:00a service includes readings from Holy Scripture, a sermon, prayers, and the celebration of Holy Communion. This service does not include music, so there is ample opportunity for silence.

Sunday | 9:15a

EARLY CHURCH: HOLY EUCHARIST, Windsor, Parish Life Center

Early Church is a brief but liturgically and spiritually rich service where our youngest church members can sing, pray, learn about Jesus, and worship in a setting created just for them. With special attention to elementary-age children, this service welcomes all who enjoy a participatory and fun worship, a gospel-centered story time, and familiar music that’s easy to sing along with.

Sunday | 10:30a

HOLY EUCHARIST WITH ORGAN AND CHOIR, Windsor, nave

We customarily pray this mid-morning service in The Book of Common Prayer’s Rite II. Supported by the choral leadership of the Good Shepherd Choir and organ, the service includes readings from scripture, a sermon, congregational hymns, prayers for God’s Church, the world, ourselves, and one another, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Sunday | 10:30a

COMMUNION CAFE: HOLY EUCHARIST WITH AN ACOUSTIC BAND, Windsor, Parish Life Center

Communion Café blends traditional, Episcopal worship and a relaxed, inclusive setting. Supported by the musical leadership of a live, acoustic band, Communion Café includes readings from scripture, a sermon, prayers, congregational singing, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Sunday | 10:30a

HOLY EUCHARIST WITH AN ACOUSTIC BAND, The Hill, church building

The Hill’s Sunday worship follows a slightly less-traditional Episcopal liturgy in a comfortable setting. Prayed in the Book of Common Prayer’s Rite II, and supported by the musical leadership of a live, acoustic band, the Hill’s worship includes readings from scripture, a sermon, prayers, congregational singing, and the celebration of Holy Eucharist. This service typically includes interpreters for American Sign Language (ASL). Children of all ages are welcome to attend the service with their families.

Sunday | 6:00p

HOLY EUCHARIST WITH ORGAN, Windsor, nave

Our evening worship offers a more meditative, intimate atmosphere, acknowledging with prayer the close of day. The service includes readings from scripture, a sermon, prayers, congregational hymns led by organ, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Sunday | 6:00p

CHORAL EVENSONG – HOLY EUCHARIST WITH SPECIAL MUSIC, Windsor, nave

On appointed Sundays throughout the year, the Good Shepherd Choir leads Choral Evensong for our 6:00p service. Evensong, a music-rich setting of Evening Prayer, is among our most traditionally Anglican liturgies, witnessing the Church’s ancient devotion of praying each day’s hours. At Good Shepherd, this service comprises choral anthems, plainsong chant, congregational hymnody, scripture readings, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Wednesdays | 5:30p

HEALING SERVICE, Windsor, Chapel

This quiet, reflective service takes time to pray specifically for those whose names appear on our prayer lists – those who suffer in any way, our expectant mothers and newborn babies and their families, those who have died, and those serving in the armed forces. Anointing of the Sick is offered to those who so desire, and the liturgy concludes with Holy Communion.

LITURGICAL VOLUNTEERS
On any given Sunday, we have nearly 50 liturgical ministers who serve as acolytes, Eucharistic ministers, lectors, intercessors, ushers, vergers and Altar Guild. These ministries allow our church to offer beautiful and meaningful worship and are a wonderful way for these ministers to draw closer to God in worship and grow in their faith. Is God calling you to explore one of these ministries? If you are curious to learn more about this, please contact the Rev. Brin Bon.

ACOLYTES
Acolytes are part of an ancient tradition – dating back as far as the third century – of those who assist priests at the altar. In our services, acolytes are those in 6th grade and older who are trained to serve in our services as crucifers, torchbearers and servers at the altar. These important roles help us to provide worship services that glorify God and offer a meaningful way to participate in the liturgy. We welcome and provide training for new acolytes several times during the year. For more information, contact the Rev. Jonathan McManus-Dail.

EUCHARISTIC VISITORS
A Eucharistic visitor is a lay person who is trained and certified to take communion from one of our Sunday services to members of the congregations who, due to illness or infirmity, are unable to be present to receive communion in person. This is an extremely rewarding ministry and you are invited to prayerfully consider if this might be something you are interested in doing. Please contact the Rev. Paige Alvarez Hanks.
