Rachel Duree

Head of School

Rachel grew up under the sun and sandy beaches of South Florida where she earned a degree in Communications and Media and Cultural Studies from Florida Atlantic University. She joined the Good Shepherd staff as an assistant teacher in 2012 and quickly became a lead Fours teacher the following year. With over fifteen years in education, she has always felt at home in the classroom but found a new passion and fulfillment working in administration as the Director of Special Programs and serving as a teacher mentor and representative on multiple leadership teams. She is excited to begin her new role as Interim Head of School and looks forward to collaborating with teachers and staff, while also remaining connected to families and young students learning and growing in the classroom. Rachel has a deep understanding of child development and truly enjoys these magical early childhood years.

Rachel and her husband live in Southwest Austin with their two baseball loving boys, Matthew, and Noah. They are both proud Good Shepherd alumni and never miss an opportunity to come back and visit! In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cheering the loudest at her kids’ sporting events, and taking on the occasional home design project.
