Suzanne is the founding Head of School for Hillside Early Childhood Center and she has had the honor of being part of growing this amazing community since July of 2017. Suzanne shares the vision for Hillside that started in 2012 by the Vestry at Good Shepherd, as a place of community built out of the need for quality Early Childhood Education and the importance of providing a place of learning for children and families during such a critical stage in their development. Suzanne’s commitment to the education of young children comes from over 26 years of experience coupled with a Master of Education from the University of Concordia in Curriculum and Instruction.
As a true Austinite, Suzanne and her husband Robert are immersed in both the history and growth of this beautiful city and enjoy everything from UT Football to backyard barbecues. Family is immensely important and the Garza’s are proud parents of Avery (26) who just graduated with a Master’s of Education from the University of Chicago and Alec (21) who is a Senior in college studying Political Science and psychology at California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, California. Distance has made family time extremely precious and traveling to Chicago, California, and places in between have made road-trips a favorite hobby and way to spend free time.
