The award-winning new documentary The Philadelphia Eleven will have its theatrical release in Austin Regal Gateway Cinema at 7:00p and other select theaters on May 14.
In 1974, at a church in Philadelphia, a group of eleven women were ordained to the Episcopal priesthood in violation of the norms of the Episcopal Church – which at the time stated that only men were eligible for ordination.
Good Shepherd will celebrate the 50th anniversary by sponsoring this special one day only screening in theaters at the Regal Gateway Cinema.
The event will feature a post-screening conversation with the Rt. Rev. Kathryn “Kai” Ryan and the Very Rev. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge, Th.D. moderated by the Rev. Paige Alvarez Hanks.
