the Rev. Mike Wyckoff

Associate Priest

The Rev. Mike Wyckoff serves as Associate Priest at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, offering teaching ministry and liturgical leadership for the parish. Mike is grateful for the opportunity to return to a community that played such a formative role in the early years of his ordained ministry.

Mike first came to Good Shepherd as a newly ordained curate in 1987, following his graduation from seminary. His three years of ministry in the parish were a joyful and foundational beginning to his vocation as a priest. Over the course of his career, Mike went on to serve as Rector of Christ Church in Temple, Texas, Rector of Christ Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and later as Rector of St. Luke’s on the Lake in Austin, from which he retired in 2018. His years in parish leadership have been shaped by a pastoral commitment to worship, preaching, and walking alongside congregations through seasons of growth and change.

After completing several interim appointments, Mike and his wife, Martha, discerned a call to return to Good Shepherd—the church where they were married, where Mike was ordained to the priesthood, where their eldest child was baptized, and where Martha’s parents’ remains are interred in the columbarium. They have long been fed by the preaching and inspired by the worship of this parish, and returning to Good Shepherd feels to them like coming home.
